The Dress that Started it All

Last fall, my sister's church was having an event called "Old Fashioned Day". Everyone dresses up like they live in the 1800's or so and they have a special program and a covered dish lunch. Please don't ask me the purpose of this event because I don't know. I remember having these events at our family church when I was a child but I don't know the reason. I think its a Baptist church thing and only here in the South because I've asked around and other denominations did not have anything like this.

Anyway, she needed a costume to wear so I volunteered to make her one. She found a pattern that she liked and we went fabric shopping. I actually had about two months to finish it so I took my time and didn't stress out about it. I even had enough fabric to make a matching bonnet. My sister was very happy with the finished product!
